Imagine if General Dwight D. Eisenhower didn’t bother to plan the D-Day (Normandy invasion in 1944). What if General Eisenhower decided to ‘wing it’.

I’m guessing the invasion would have been a disaster. The 160,000 or so men would have been slaughtered instead of the 9,000 men who gave their lives.

That’s the power of having a strategic plan. It can make or break your business.

Let me put it to you like this. When you know exactly where the business is headed and (even better) you’ve let your team know, then all of you can move in the same direction.

Change courses every 6 months or so and you’ll confuse yourself, your team, and your clients.

That is, if your team and your clients decide to stick around waiting for you to figure it out.

Moral of the story: if it involves action, it better be planned. Or just think, what would General Ike do?
